Bxslide Links and Side Navigation

Here is a way to create a dynamic sidebar. The system will count the list items and associate it with the proper slider.

Here is the javascript code.

$.each($('.side-nav li'), function(index, value) {
console.log(index + ':' + value);
$(".story-nav li a").eq(index).addClass('slide-'+index);
});

$('.side-nav li a').click(function(){
var num_id = $(this).attr('class').match(/\d+/); //
event.preventDefault();
slider.goToSlide(num_id);
});

You can then add this html code on your page:

By adding these items, you can create a side navigation that will scroll to the proper slide. You can name the link what ever you want.

Photoshop To CSS | CSS Hat Review

CSS Hat Interface

Costs: $34.99

I am a professional web site developer, mainly a front-end user interface engineer. Most of my day is spent bouncing around photoshop files and sublime text editor, trying to match pixels and recreate mock-up photoshop web sites into working html and css. As most front end developers know, is that this task, without a proper work flow and set of tools, can be daunting, frustrating, and slow. Going from photoshop to css can be a major pain.

Magento JQuery Product Fade in On Scroll

Want to add a fade in effect through jQuery when users are scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Add the following code to the header of your pages.

Create a code in the js file called script.js. Add the following code.

var $j = jQuery.noConflict();
$j(document).ready(function() {
$j(function() { // when the DOM is ready...
// Fade In function
// Hide Stuff
$j('.products-grid, #products-list li').hide();
tiles = $j(".products-grid, #products-list li").fadeTo(0, 0);
$j('.first').fadeTo(0, 1);

$j(window).scroll(function(d,h) {
tiles.each(function(i) {
a = $j(this).offset().top ;
b = $j(window).scrollTop() + $j(window).height() -100;
if (a < b) $j(this).fadeTo(700,1); }); });}); });

This will make it so that when the bottom of your browser hits the next product it will "fade in" the content. This works best for the products-grid layout.

Shopify add robots noindex tag to page: Solved

So you would like to add name=”robots” content=”noindex, follow” to a page on your shopify site? Well luckily for you this can be done in about three really really easy steps.
Hopefully this short work through will help you with your needs.

Step 1: Shopify add robots noindex tag to page – Specify your page title

Login to your shopify web site and go to “Pages”. There either click on the page you are trying to edit, or create a new one. On the edit page enter in your page title. If the page has already been created copy your title, or write it down for later use.

Step 2: Shopify add robots noindex tag to page – Edit your theme

Now step one done go to “Themes > Template Editor”. In your template editor you are looking for the the asset that is in charge of your whole page, mainly your header and footer. This “main template” should be located under “Layouts” which can be found on the left hand side of the page. In my case this main file is titled theme.liquid, this will probably be the same for you. Open up this asset. Copy and paste it to a local file for backup.

Step 3: Shopify add robots noindex tag to page – Add the code

Finally try to find located in your theme. Above place in the code below.

Remove “Page Title Here” and add in your title. *Make sure you keep the quotation marks

{% if page.title == "Page Title Here" %}

{% endif %}

If you would like this code to appear on two pages use the code below. Remove “Page Title Here” and add in your title. *Make sure you keep the quotation marks

{% if page.title == "Page Title Here" or page.title == "Page Title Here 2" %}

{% endif %}

If you would like this code to appear on three pages use the code below. Remove “Page Title Here” and add in your title. *Make sure you keep the quotation marks

{% if page.title == "Page Title Here" or page.title == "Page Title Here 2" or page.title == "Page Title Here 3"%}

{% endif %}

You can keep adding more and more pages, you get the idea… Let me know if you have any questions or issues.

Cheers.

Tri.be Events Calendar Advanced Widget Add Map

Do you have tri.be’s events calendar for wordpress? Do you have the community edition, and would like to add a “maps” checkbox item to your advanced widget. Well with a few easy steps you can do this and get something like this:

WP Events Calendar Google Maps Fix for Event View

Modern tribe provides an amazing product for events calendar. I recommend checking out their event’s calendar pro and community calendar. You can view this here: http://tri.be/products/

While working for a client I was having problems with the single view of an event. In Modern Tribe’s wordpress event calendar, a google map of the event location is supposed to appear when a user clicks on the single view. I was getting all of the information except for the silly google map. Modern Tribe’s support forms suggest to revert your template to the standard 2011, and deactivate all plugins to see if anything is conflicting. In my case nothing was conflicting, it was just something to do with the code. This might be because of the version of php I am running. I am not 100% sure behind the reasoning.

So after messing around I was able to fix the issue. I first went to /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/

In /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single.php I changed this…

<?php if( tribe_embed_google_map( get_the_ID() ) ) : ?>
<?php if( tribe_address_exists( get_the_ID() ) ) { echo tribe_get_embedded_map(get_the_ID()); } ?>
<?php endif;
to this:
<?php // if( tribe_embed_google_map( get_the_ID() ) ) : ?>
<?php // if( tribe_address_exists( get_the_ID() ) ) { echo tribe_get_embedded_map(get_the_ID()); } ?>
<?php // endif;
if( tribe_address_exists( get_the_ID() ) ) {
	if (tribe_get_embedded_map(get_the_ID())) {
 echo tribe_get_embedded_map(get_the_ID());
	}
}
?>

After that the google maps functions worked! Yay…

Happy coding.
