About Baird-Neece Packing Corp.

Baird-Neece Packing Corp. began packing citrus in 1946 in Porterville, California. In 1961, the company expanded with the purchase of the Strathmore District Orange Association. That facility was destroyed by fire in 1968. In May of 1968, Baird-Neece purchased the Sunflower Citrus Packing Corporation located next door to their Porterville facility. The purchase brought together two of the most modern citrus packing plants in the area. In 1986, the older of the two buildings was torn down to make room for the expansion of the remaining building.

Fruit processed by Baird-Neece is grown throughout the San Joaquin Valley. In an average season our growers will deliver 1,500,000 cartons of Navel Oranges to the Porterville plant for processing and approximately 500,000 cartons of Valencia Oranges. While most of our fruit is sold in the United States and Canada, our export sales continue to increase.

The principals of Baird-Neece are Dick Neece, President; Dick R. Neece, Vice President-Manager; Donna Swacker, Secretary-Treasurer, Mike Cranmer, Assistant Manager.
